Big baits and big fish, that’s been the standard practice for Murray cod anglers for the past few seasons. With the increased popularity of big-bait fishing, Daiwa engineers needed a solution. The result? Introducing the brand-new TATULA 300.
Designed to meet the needs of big-bait anglers worldwide, TATULA 300 features everything which has made TATULA reels before it so popular, and a host of features reserved only for the 300 size.
Built around an overall larger size aluminium frame, TATULA 300 features a 43mm diameter spool that is 26.5mm wide. This spool profile still allows the reel to sit comfortably in the palm, whilst allowing for the increased line capacity needed when fishing very heavy line. A newly developed double anti-reverse is a feature that has long been requested in heavy-duty baitcast reels by Australian anglers and is now implemented inside the TATULA 300.
 
Daiwa’s famous TWS improves casting distance allowing zero friction line flow. Heavy-duty brass gearing is standard, and the stainless-steel main shaft is stronger than ever before. A 7-layer UTD drag stack pumps out 13kg of maximum drag pressure, stopping even Papuan Black Bass in their tracks.
All of this is topped off with a 110mm extra-long handle and newly designed soft-touch XL handle knobs. Available in multiple ratios in both right and left hand models, TATULA 300 is the ultimate big-bait reel for the ultimate in big-bait fishing. 
ALUMINIUM BODY
Lightweight and incredibly strong, aluminium allows strength and weightlessness to be achieved without the cost and corrosion issues of other metals.
CRBB
Lasting 12 times longer than standard stainless steel bearings Daiwa’s CRBBs feature specially treated stainless steel, and a protective shield on the bearing race that seals out sand, fine grit, salt crystals and other abrasives. The result is a longer lasting bearing that’s protected from the corrosive elements that destroy traditional bearings.
MAGFORCE
Daiwa’s first iteration of the famous magnetic cast control system, Magforce is a spool braking system designed to slow the rotational speed through a dialled magnetic control.
UTD DRAG
A system that combines ultra smooth low inertia with ultimate fish stopping power. UTD combines advanced carbon washers, alloy and stainless steel drag plates with specially designed grease for ultra-smooth performance.

None more so than the needs of anglers in the northern states, chasing barramundi and other tropical sportfish on baitcaster tackle. Daiwa’s TATULA range has taken the market by storm with the perfect blend of line capacity, performance & value. TATULION is an evolution, elevating performance to another level with the introduction of a waterproof carbon ATD Drag system inside a 200-size capacity baitcaster reel for the first time. The 200-size line capacity demanded by many anglers allows the use of heavy braided line and plenty of it. The Carbon ATD drag equipped in TATULION is water sealed, with a rubber gasket lining the top of the stack helping to keep water out, which ultimately means a more durable and longer-lasting drag performance. TATULION’s drag also features an audible click, a feature long used in flagship Daiwa baitcast reels such as Steez and Morethan. The audible drag click ensures anglers know exactly what’s going on, allowing them to adjust their fight to ultimately land more fish. TATULION features an aluminium gear side plate, which allows the use of the carbon ATD drag by giving Daiwa engineers more room inside the side plate to equip the slightly thicker drag stack. A host of other improvements can be seen in TATULION, such as an aluminium long-arm drag star and EVA handle knobs, making it not only easier to adjust drag on the fly mid-fight, but also improving overall grip and comfort of the reel while in use.
